Restaurant Gaj

Restaurant Gaj lies at a beautiful location by the river Savinja, whose purity and abundance of fish attract fishermen and other guests from Slovenia and Europe.

The restaurant is next to the ecological horticultural pearl Mozirski Gaj and is surrounded by the facilities of the Mozirje Sports Park. The restaurant was originally built to provide necessary facilities for the Football Club Elkroj Mozirje. There was also a bar and a bowling alley in the building.

The restaurant Gaj opened its door for the first time on April 26, 1978, the same day as Mozirski Gaj. Different generations of guests have enjoyed select home-made food surrounded by pine trees through decades, celebrated anniversaries and family events, here many people of the Upper Savinja Valley and others celebrated their eternal wedding vows, as the restaurant has been known for its hospitality and excellence.

After the departure of the previous owner and the purchase of the building, we decided to upgrade all the qualities acquired over four decades to an even higher level, to continue the tradition and to offer our guests restaurant services at reasonable prices.
